Three important things for us Linux users:
- Finally, some (hopefully) reliable Broadcom drivers exist for Linux. It took Canonical and Dell to railroad Broadcom into it, but we’ll take what we can get. My wife used to have an Acer with a Broadcom and it was nothing put a total pain in the butt.
- Bomgar will actually allow Windows, Mac, and Linux (if you count SuSE as Linux) support reps to provide remote assistance to Linux boxes. I haven’t really dug into this one, but I don’t see what’s so wrong with RDP for connecting Win and Mac to Linux and remote X for Linux to Linux, but I’m the first person to understand that sometimes you just need to package something nicely to attract people to it.
- Wikipedia is moving to Ubuntu from various RPM crap (400 servers!). Awesome, now it will actually be fast.
